Impacts of Grazing Disturbance on Soil Nitrogen Component Contents and Storages in a Leymus chinensis Meadow Steppe

چکیده
Long-term grazing leads to soil degradation in Inner Mongolia grassland. Based on the Hulunbeier meadow steppe, variation characteristics of nitrogen content and storage layers between 0–40 cm, under six different intensities, response vegetation other physical chemical properties were studied. The main results as follows: (1) Moderate increased total (TN), soluble (STN) microbial biomass (MBN) contents, while heavy decreased MBN content. In year with more rain, nitrate (NO3−-N) storage, less rain ammonium (NH4+-N) (2) proportion cm components showed an upward trend opposite years rainfall increase intensity. Soil organic (SON) NO3−-N storages rainy years. (3) component contents correlated plant growth status, moisture (SM) bulk density (SBD), significantly negatively temperature (ST) pH (p < 0.05). affected by grazing, soil, vegetation, meteorological environmental factors. was conducive improvement capacity healthy development

Impacts of Grazing Intensity and Plant Community Composition on Soil Bacterial Community Diversity in a Steppe Grassland
Soil bacteria play a key role in the ecological and evolutionary responses of agricultural ecosystems. Domestic herbivore grazing is known to influence soil bacterial community. However, the effects of grazing and its major driving factors on soil bacterial community remain unknown for different plant community compositions under increasing grazing intensity. Thus, to investigate soil bacterial...
متن کاملEffects of Nitrogen Addition on the Drought Susceptibility of the Leymus chinensis Meadow Ecosystem Vary with Drought Duration
It is not clear yet how extreme drought and nitrogen (N) deposition influence grassland ecosystem functions when they are considered together, especially in complex field conditions. To explore the response of the Leymus chinensis meadow ecosystem to manipulated extreme drought (45 days), N addition and their interaction, we measured leaf photosynthetic characteristics, aboveground phytomass on...
متن کاملEffects of Simulated Nitrogen Deposition on Soil Net Nitrogen Mineralization in the Meadow Steppe of Inner Mongolia, China
Effects of simulated nitrogen (N) deposition on soil net nitrogen mineralization (NNM) were examined in situ during two growing seasons, using the resin-core technique in the semiarid meadow steppe in Inner Mongolia, China. The aim of this study is to clarify the effect of N levels (0, 10, and 20 kg N ha-1yr-1) and forms (NH4+ and NO3-) on soil mineral N and NNM. Our results showed that N level...
متن کاملEffect of Grazing Exclusion on Vegetation Characteristics and Soil Organic Carbon of Leymus chinensis Grassland in Northern China
Overgrazing has caused vegetation destruction and soil degradation in Leymus chinensis grassland, the widely distributed type of grassland in northern China. To restore the degraded ecosystem, grazing exclusion was implemented in 1979, 1999, and 2004. However, changes in the vegetation and soil organic carbon (SOC) in different years of grazing exclusion have not been thoroughly elucidated. Thi...
متن کاملEffects of Grazing and Mowing on Leymus Chinensis Grassland in the Songnen Plain of Northeastern China
Effects of mowing and grazing on a Leymus chinensis grassland in the Songnen plain of northeastern China were studied using eight replicates of four grazing and mowing treatments. Canopy cover and biomass of the dominant species (L. chinensis) were lower, and cover of the halophyte Suaeda corniculata higher, on grazed than ungrazed; ungrazed plots showed a response to mowing, but not grazing; s...
